IDNTools Ad on Times Square Billboard

The domain industry needs more publicity. IDNs really deserve more publicity as they are a fantastic opportunity all too often misunderstood and summarily dismissed. I am a co-owner of IDNTools.com because I believe in the investment potential of IDNs and domain names. I particularly believe in our main product IDNDroplist.com, which is the only droplist for IDNs. As such, I was very excited and proud to promote IDNTools in the heart of Times Square today. IDNTools is being featured on Reuters’ iconic Times Square electronic billboard starting today as part of a rotation for 72 hours. The caption is blurry in the low-res screenshot, but it says “Investors profit from IDN domain names bought from sites like IDNTools.com.” See the pictures above.
This was a fantastic promotional opportunity for our company. I have stopped by Times Square where most people are rushing by our ad without looking up. But out of the thousands of passers-by throughout the day, a surprisingly good number of people do glance up and stare curiously.
This will have a positive effect for domain investors and IDNers on the whole. Each large public ad makes our investments more mainstream and understood. I hope IDNTools will benefit greatly from this Times Square promotion, and I also hope that more people will become interested in domains and IDNs as a result.
