Breaking: $100,000 IDN Sale for 日本.com (Japan).com

Another $100,000 IDN sale was just made, this time for 日本.com (Japan).com, and can be expected to be seen in the next DNJournal sales charts.
The word for “Japan” in both Japanese and Chinese is “日本”, adding great value to the domain.
The core significance of this term can be seen through the .JP registry, JPRS, having made the choice to attempt to alias .JP to .日本.
Given the shortness and popularity of this geodomain, the new owner of 日本.com also has the nice option of selling subdomains at ____.日本.com. Many mainstream geo-development options of course exist as well.
Congratulations to both buyer and seller, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this name is used.
