Russian .ORG Release a Hit
Yesterday, the .ORG registry released Cyrillic IDNs which are now available for all to register. Many major registrars and dropcatchers heavily marketed this release including Dynadot and Pool.com.
While unlocking the Cyrillic alphabet for .ORG domains means that valuable Russian .ORG domains can now be registered, also notable is that Bosnian, Bulgarian, Belarusian, Macedonian, Serbian, and Ukrainian domains can now be registered under .ORG as well since they all use the Cyrillic alphabet.

Personally, I applied to preregister what I considered the 20 top Russian .ORG terms and successfully won two. I also found it helpful to think about what terms were a natural fit for .ORG such as health related domains.
There are still plenty of handregs available as the general registration period just started. As Russian IDN .COM domains have already sold for six-figures, buying a few to Russian .ORGs for under $10 each is a worthwhile investment.
I picked up a few, But I wasn’t lucky enough to get them winning lotto org’s listed below, I’m sure there are some 6 figure even 7 figure Russian .org that were snapped up in high demand, I’m wondering who are the lucky one’s that got the list that idnplace compiled judging by the idn.рф madness there will be lots of demand.

Hi Rob
here is a post with the registrar of record for each of the names off my keyword list. When it was all said and done there was only about half of those available to register. I only got 1 (:
